The Causal Self By Anthony J. Fejfar, B.A., J.D., Esq., Coif © Copyright 2009 by Anthony J. Fejfar In Ken Wilber’s Book, dealing with Transpersonal Psychology, he describes the Causal Self, which is at Level 8, immediately above the Subtle Self. The Causal Self is a Self of Pure, Uncaused Consciousness, also known as an Uncaused Cause. The Magic Causal Self is that of a Gray Wizard who can perform Physical Magic or Miracles. Thus, Jesus of Nazareth could manifest food, heal the ill, and walk on water by levitating. Then, the Metaphysical Causal Self is the Self who Structures Reality using Metaphysics. Since Jesus Christ did this First, Jesus Christ is the First Cause, Uncaused Cause who uses Reason and Metaphysics to Cause Reality to Exist, and Subsist. While others can develop a Causal Self, and according to Aristotle become an Uncaused Cause, only Jesus Christ is, and was, the First Cause, Uncaused Cause.
