READING EHRICK WEISZ Was the son of a Jewish Rabbi who born in Budapest on, March 24, 1874. Because of financial problems the family moved to U.S.A when he migrated he changed his name to Eric Weiss. He was interested in magic and illusions since he was very young. But it was not until he was 16 and after his father`s death that he began working as a magician. He then changed his name again, this time to harry Houdini in honor of Robert Houdini, a famous French magician. He soon became famous as a magician and as an illusionist. At the age of sixteen he moved to New York to get extra studies in the university of New York. At the age of 19 he was in a t.v. program, that became very famous. Today he is known world- wide for his combination of illusions. He is the master of illusions. He made the statue of liberty disappear in front of hundreds of people live, and thousands of t.v. viewers around the word.
