The Phoenix Story •
Prior to 9/11/01 neither the FBI nor any other entity provided any information to the FAA Civil Aviation Security Field Office nor FAA Flight Standards elements hi the Phoenix area indicating any sort of threat of hijacking or terrorist attack by any individuals in flight schools.

Subsequent to that date, media coverage of the alleged memo from FBI Phoenix to FBI headquarters which reportedly warned of such a threat, has come to the attention of local FAA and TSA personnel. The FBI and other entities have contacted local FAA Flight Standards personnel since 9/11 to obtain information on one of the alleged 9/11 hijackers, Hani Hanjour. Hanjour came to the attention ofj lAviation Safety Inspector, Phoenix Certificate Management Office, between Jan 25 - 29,2001, while \s attending a training class. The training was Boeing 737 ground school and simulator training offered by "Jet Tech International." Hanjour was a student in the class and J I under an agreement between the school and the FAA, was also attending the ground school portion of the training between January 25-29.
