BE STILL, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here; Come bow before Him now with reverence and fear. In Him no sin is found, we stand on holy ground; Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here.

Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around; He burns with holy fire, with splendour He is crowned. How awesome is the sight, our radiant King of light! Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around.

moving in this place; He comes to cleanse and heal, to minister His grace. No work too hard for Him, in faith receive from Him; Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place.

L: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen.

Let us sit down or kneel:

L: Christ is Risen! C: He is Risen indeed! L: We who belong to Christ have been buried with him in his death and have been raised with him so that we may live a new life by the power of his resurrection! Therefore, we should not let ourselves be ruled by our sinful nature.

L: We who belong to Christ have been buried with him in his death and have been raised with him so that we may live a new life by the power of his resurrection! Therefore, we should not let ourselves be ruled by our sinful nature.

Let us therefore confess our sins, so that His new life can become a reality in us today: L: Most merciful God, C: We confess that we are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen

L: Almighty God, in his mercy, has given his Son to die for us and, for his sake, forgives and liberates us from our sins and gives us new life with Christ. C. Amen

L: Let us pray with the words of our ancestors: Left side: God, keep me safe. Right side: I go to you for safety. Left side: I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord. Right side: Without you, I don't have anything that is good." Left side: God's people who live in our land are glorious. Right side: I take great delight in them. Left side: Those who run after other gods will have nothing but trouble.

Right side: I will not pour out offerings of blood to those gods. My lips will not speak their names. Left side: Lord, everything you have given me is good. Right side: You have made my life secure. Left side: I am very pleased with what you have given me. Right side: I am very happy with what I've received from you. All: I will praise the Lord.

Left side: Right side: Left side:

He gives me good advice. Even at night my heart teaches me. I know that the Lord is always with me. Right side: He is at my right hand. I will always be secure. Left side: So my heart is glad. Joy is on my tongue. My body also will be secure. Right side: You will not leave me in the grave. Left side: You will not let your faithful one rot away.

All: You always show me the path that leads to life. You will fill me with joy when I am with you. You will give me endless pleasures at your right hand. I will praise the Lord.

MY LIFE IS IN YOU, LORD, My strength is in You, Lord, My hope is in You, Lord, In You, it’s in You. ( Repeat)

I will praise You with all of my life; I will praise You with all of my strength. With all of my life, With all of my strength; All of my hope is in You.

MY LIFE IS IN YOU, LORD, My strength is in You, Lord, My hope is in You, Lord, In You, it’s in You. ( Repeat) …In you………………..

First Reading: Reader: The first lesson is from Acts 2:14a; 36-41 14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.

36"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." 37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" 38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." 40With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

The reader: This is the word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God.

The Second reading: Reader: The second lesson is from 1 Peter 1:17-23 17Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. 18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers,

19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. 22Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers,

love one another deeply, from the heart. 23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

The reader: This is the word of the Lord C: Thanks be to God

THERE IS A REDEEMER, Jesus, God’s own Son, Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Holy One. Thank You, O my Father, For giving us Your Son, And leaving Your Spirit— Till the work on earth is done.

Jesus my Redeemer, Name above all names, Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, O for sinners slain. Thank You, O my Father, For giving us Your Son, And leaving Your Spirit— Till the work on earth is done.

When I stand in glory I will see His face, And there I’ll serve my King forever In that holy place. Thank You, O my Father, For giving us Your Son, And leaving Your Spirit— Till the work on earth is done.

Let us all rise to listen to the Gospel: P: The Gospel for the day is found in Luke 24:13-35 C: Glory To You O Lord: 13Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;

16but they were kept from recognizing him. 17He asked them, "What are you discussing together as you walk along?" They stood still, their faces downcast. 18One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, "Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?" 19"What things?" he asked. "About Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.

20The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23but didn't find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.

24Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see."25He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?" 27And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.28As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going farther.

29But they urged him strongly, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over." So he went in to stay with them. 30When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

33They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34and saying, "It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon." 35Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

P: Here ends the reading of the Gospel. C: Praise to you, O Christ. Please be seated:

THE GOSPEL Luke 24:13-35

MAJESTY, worship His majesty, Unto Jesus be glory, honour and praise. Majesty, kingdom authority, Flow from His throne unto His own, His anthem raise.

So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus, Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King. Majesty, worship His majesty, Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.

Make me a channel of Your peace. Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope; Where there is darkness, only light; And where there’s sadness, ever joy.

Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek So much to be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of Your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, In giving to all men that we receive, And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek So much to be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Let us all stand up confess our faith together in the words of the Apostles’ Creed.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, The holy catholic Church, The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen.

Please be seated: The Prayers Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs…. Each petition concludes with “Lord, in your mercy”, answered by the congregation: hear our prayer.

L: Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. C: Amen.

A NEW COMMANDMENT I give unto you, That you love one another As I have loved you, That you love one another As I have loved you.

By this shall all men know That you are My disciples, If you have love one for another. By this shall all men know That you are My

L: Let us pray. Merciful God, C: You have created all things, and all things belong to You. We give you thanks for all your good provision for us, and we offer with thanks this money as signs of recognition that all we are and all that we have belong to You, and we are only your stewards on earth. Receive these gifts and bless them for your kingdom’s purposes. And bless us abundantly as we seek to serve you in caring each other and redeeming the earth through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

I come with joy to meet my Lord, forgiven, loved, and free, in awe and wonder to recall his life laid down for me.

I come with Christians far and near to find, as all are fed, the new community of love in Christ's communion bread. As Christ breaks bread and bids us share, each proud division ends. That love that made us makes us one, and strangers no-w are friends. friends

Please all rise: Great Thanksgiving L: The Lord be with you. C: And also with you. L: Lift up your hearts. C: We lift them to the Lord. L: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. C: It is right to give God thanks and praise.

L: It is indeed right...God. But chiefly we are bound to praise you for the glorious resurrection of our Lord; for he is the true Passover Lamb who gave himself to take away our sin, who by his death has destroyed death, and by his rising has brought us to eternal life. And so, with Mary Magdalene, and Peter, and all the witnesses of the resurrection, with earth and sea and all their creatures, with angels and archangels, cherubim and seraphim, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Sanctus Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts The whole earth is full of his glory The whole earth is full of his glory The whole earth is full of his glory Holy is the Lord!

You are indeed holy, O God. You are the Source of all goodness, life and light. You have brought life out of death, light out of darkness, reconciliation with God out of rejection and hatred of his Christ. We give you praise and glory! We remember that as he remembered and celebrated the Passover,

In the night when he was betrayed, Our Lord Jesus took bread; He gave thanks, broke it And gave it to his disciples, Saying, Take and eat; This is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.

Again after supper, he took the cup and gave thanks, And gave it for them all to drink, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.

We thank you, too, for the promise and the giving of your Spirit to be with us as Comforter and Counselor as we wait for you. Come to us now, Spirit of our Risen Lord, abide with us; fill us anew with life and power; inhabit your people, and making us your living temple. Bring forth the life and ministry of Jesus in us, among us, and through us. Open our eyes to see, our minds to know, our hearts to receive all that you have for us. C: AMEN! COME, HOLY SPIRIT!

Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours, now and forever. Amen

Peace L: May the Peace of the Lord be with you! C: And also with you! L: Let us greet each other with the peace of the Lord. Distribution The body of Christ given for you. The blood of Christ shed for you.

WITH ALL MY HEART I thank You, Lord. With all my heart I thank You, Lord, For this bread and wine we break, For this sacrament we take, For the forgiveness that You make, I thank You, Lord.

With all my soul I thank You, Lord. With all my soul I thank You, Lord, For this victory that You’ve won, For this taste of things to come, For this love that makes us one, I thank You, Lord.

With all my voice I thank You, Lord. With all my voice I thank You, Lord, For the sacrifice of pain, For the Spirit and the flame, For the power of Your name, I thank You, Lord.

L: The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in his grace. C: Amen. L: Let us pray….Lord, we give you thanks that you have refreshed us in our journey through life with this bread and wine, the food of heaven given to us in Jesus Christ. We pray that you would strengthen us, through his life in us, in faith toward you, and in love toward one another and the world around us; for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. C: Amen.

THE BENEDICTION L: The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord look upon you with favor, and give you peace.

GOD FORGAVE MY SIN in Jesus’ name, I’ve been born again in Jesus’ name; And in Jesus’ name I come to you To share His love as He told me to. He said: ‘Freely, freely, you have received, Freely, freely give; Go in My name, and because you believe Others will know that I live.’

All power is given in Jesus’ name, In earth and heaven in Jesus’ name; And in Jesus’ name I come to you To share His power as He told me to.
