MMSTLC SUMMER ACADEMY: GETTING THERE Summer Academy Workshops: The Summer Academy will take place at the University of Michigan Dearborn’s Fairlane South Campus at 19000 Hubbard Drive in Dearborn. This is the College of Education, and is the first building that you will see to your left when entering the complex from Hubbard Drive (and the last one on the right when taking the “back way” from the Doubletree Inn. Look for the signs for our registration area and workshops when you enter the building in the morning.

Detroit

To get to the building from the Doubletree Inn, take the service drive from the hotel and turn right onto Ford Rd. Turn left at the next light, about 1/4 mile down from the hotel service drive entrance, onto Auto Club Dr. (do not take the “Michigan U-turn” onto Ford Rd. to head east). The entrance to the parking lot of the UM Dearborn Fairlane Campus is the second right. If you miss this, take Auto Club Drive to Hubbard Rd., turn right, and right again into the front entrance of the campus.

Accommodations: Participants who are traveling a significant distance to the area will be staying at the Doubletree Inn in Dearborn. This is right at the Ford Rd. exit from the Southfield Freeway (M-39) in Dearborn. See the maps at right.

We will board the Diamond Jack River Tour boat there for a dinner cruise up the Detroit River, by Belle Isle and the eastern riverfront area of Detroit. Maps will be provided.

Note: We will be making extensive use of the Moodle site during the afternoon session today, so it will be critical for you to bring your laptop computer. We will also be providing some detailed information about future efforts of the program and an upcoming grant opportunity for teams to consider.
