BUILDING ISLAM IN DETROIT FOUNDATIONS / FORMS / FUTURES The Muslim Center of Detroit welcomes the Ministry of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed for the annual Islamic Convention and cordially invites you to the opening of the Building Islam in Detroit exhibition on FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, FROM 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Building Islam in Detroit is a research project that documents the growth of mosques and Muslim communities in greater Detroit over the last century. We hope this exhibit will help you appreciate the historical richness, diversity, and influence of Islam in Detroit. Shaped by experiences of discrimination and opportunity, struggle and accomplishment, the building projects on display here are the groundwork of a Muslim American future.
