STUDY TIPS 1. Be proactive. Seek out your teachers by making appointment times to meet with them before assessment tasks. Also use email to ask questions and seek clarification. Ask for extra revision activities and question sheets. Have your teachers check through your revision notes to make sure you haven’t omitted anything. 2. Print out the VCAA Study Design for each of your subjects and use AOS Topics and Key Knowledge dot points as sub-headings under which to organise your notes. Try to hand write your notes to better consolidate the information. 3. Try different types of study practices … notes, Quizlet, mind maps (I can laminate for you to put in the shower), record yourself reading your notes and listen back, use spare lessons to work with other students in your subject(s). 4. Set yourself strict time limits to achieve a homework or study task. If you leave things too open-ended, you are less likely to work efficiently. 5. Close all other tabs on your laptop while working to avoid distractions and social media. 6. Use allocated time in your schedule to read ahead in each subject. This will make learning of the information in class easier.
