President’s Message

Welcome to first edition of the ABOA newsletter on the web. I would like to congratulate all the Alberta officials that received appointments this year, whether they were pro-

vincial, national or international. You have shown that Alberta officials are among the best. Basketball has become an all year event and therefore there are summer tournaments available for officials. Your local assignor will have knowledge of these tournaments. In September , in conjunction with Basketball Alberta , Super-

Weekend will return on September 22-24. Our relationship with Basketball Alberta has turned the corner and both sides are working hard to make it even better. On the last note, FIBA rules are going to be a reality so be prepared to learn a new set of rules by 2007/08. Have a great summer.

ABOA is encouraging all other leagues (recreation or community) to remain with their current NCAA rules until the fall of 2007.
