Ketron Memorial is located in Kingsport, Tennessee and is a member of the Holston District Conference. Started in the 1930's, Ketron Memorial has grown over the years to a membership of about 300. In the 1960's, modification was done to the building which consisted of a larger sanctuary and a fellowship hall. Today Ketron Memorial is still going strong with a congregation averaging around 100 people per service. The church has become more determined in its efforts to spread the Word of God to the local community, with programs that encourage children and adults. Besides having a standard worship service and Sunday school classes the church has put the following programs in action. Children in the 5th grade and under are encouraged to join the WOW program which consists of learning materials, games, and snacks all revolving around Gods Word. The 6th grade children and higher can attend the youth program that provides activities that encourage fellowship with one anther, having an active role in church events, and the opportunity to participate in some of the field trips that are offered. While this is great for the children the church also has programs and activities for the adults. The adults will have the chance to attend bible study classes of different subjects, and church adventures with fellow adults to try new restaurants or even a site seeing tour. But, the church also believes in family togetherness and in this time and day it seems harder and harder for families to have time to share with one anther. Jesus said in the book of John 12:26 (New King James version), “If anyone serves Me let him follow Me, and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” This is a call to be a servant for God, its not something that God wanted us to do if we wanted too, for it is what God tells us to do for one anther. This is very important for everyone to understand and to follow through with, the evil in the world today id fighting against the church to try and to defeat it but, as servants of God, He tells us that the victory is already ours and to spread the truth about his LOVE.
