Anyone at least 12 years old is invited to join us. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 8am for a brief organizational meeting, then report to our job sites by 8:30am. Early risers are invited to join us at 7:30 for breakfast prepared by Moose Stovall. We plan to finish by 1pm then have lunch in the Fellowship Hall together and share our experiences. Let them know of your skills and whether you have tools that you can bring. Every participant will need work gloves, but we can help with those if you don't have them. Jobs might include yard cleanup and planting, fence repairs, pressure washing house, painting, repair of leaky faucets/toilets, replacing/installing light fixture/door or cabinet handles/ceiling fan; building a ramp or installing handicap access items like handrails in shower. We also will need a few volunteers to help with child care at the church from 8-1 that day. Finally, cookies/fruit/water/soft drinks will be needed for snacks to keep the workers nourished and hydrated. Amanda Carr ([email protected] 254-7152191) is coordinating the child care and snack contributions. Please pray for our efforts to do the work Christ commanded us to do--"If you love me, take care of my sheep".

TO OUR COMMUNITY. . . I was asked a very important question this week. The question had to do with Vacation Bible School. Which, if you haven’t heard, was absolutely GREAT! THANK YOU to EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!! Now, back to the question, the question was, “So what kind of blessings have you seen this week at VBS?” It was an easy one to answer. The blessings were many, but I will keep the answer short. Here is a portion of my response to the question, it was a blessing every time a child smiled, hugged someone, was hugged by someone, every time a child said thank you, please, or you’re welcome, every time they said a verse from the Bible that reminds them how fearfully and wonderfully we are made and that we need to be still and know God, and it was a blessing to know that every worker here had a part in helping each child hide God’s Word in their heart that they might not sin against God. My original answer was much lengthier, but I think you get the message. To be involved in the spiritual development of these children is a blessing. Children are simply a blessing themselves. I like blessings so much, I think I will end with a blessing. This is one of my favorites: "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."
