“Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)”
This is a special Sunday in the life of our church. This is what we call “Youth Sunday”. What we mean by that is our youth are going to lead us in worship. They will lead in our music, children’s feature, offertory, and preaching. The fact that we have youth that are capable to lead us in worship is a testament to the youth workers and youth leaders as well as the total membership of this church. Without your constant example of faithful worship, they would not understand worship. So today, I say thank you for allowing me to pastor a church that calls capable ministers to lead our youth, that has capable volunteer youth leaders, and that year in and year out makes sure that there is a budget that is ample to minister to the youth of this community. Today, as a church family, we have the opportunity to be witnesses of the “fruits” of our labors and also to be very proud of the youth that we have all had a part in their spiritual development. Remember this next week is Vacation Bible School. If you have not brought cookies, we are still in need of some. Please remember VBS in your prayers. Psalm 33:11 states, “But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Since God’s plans and purposes are for all generations, it is our responsibility to make sure that future generations know that. Through our youth and children’s ministries, we are doing just that. Praying for you, John
