CWL We are holding an open meeting to explain the structure and work of the CWL, locally, nationally and internationally. We shall also be planning our programme for 2010. Non-members are very welcome; come and see what we are all about. We shall be collecting wool for the Clothing Guild at this meeting. ITALIAN EVENING – July 13th The whole parish is invited to an Italian – themed social evening in the parish hall from 7.30pm. Tickets at £4 will be on sale after Mass 27/28 June and 4/5 July. Food and fun will be provided but please B.Y.O.B.

OFFERTORY ENVELOPES

The envelopes for next year commencing 5th July will be in the church entrance from June 21after Mass.

CHILDREN’S END OF TERM CELEBRATION MASS

This special Mass will take place on Saturday 4th July in the Parish Hall at 8.50am. It is especially for all the children of the parish and their families but parishioners are also welcome to attend. Refreshment will be served after the Mass.

THE TOGETHER CLUB will be meeting at the Beach Hut on Thursday at

12.00noon for fish and chips If the weather is wet we will meet at the Convent as usual at 2.00 p.m.

MANY THANKS to all who made last Sunday’s First Holy Communion so memorable. Particular thanks to Monica Macdonald, Pauline Mayes, Gemma Ryan and Sr Penelope who gave so much time and effort to prepare the children for that day.

THE RELICS OF ST. THERESE OF LISIEUX will be brought to England and Wales from September 16th to October 16th 2009. They will visit 22 cathedrals and churches. In the Diocese of East Anglia they will be hosted at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham from the afternoon of 6th October to after the 12 Noon Mass on the 7th October. A varied Programme will be organised throughout and there will be an All Night Vigil from 10pm to 6am with opening and closing Masses to cover the night hours. We are looking to organise a coach for the deanery; please let me know soon if you are interested

DIOCESAN CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE with Bishop Michael on Sunday, 11th July 2009 St. John’s Cathedral, Earlham Road, Norwich. Mass with renewal of Marriage Commitment at 11.00, followed by light refreshments. Especially for those celebrating a 1st or significant anniversary or a new baby, with certificate presented to those celebrating 1st, 5th, 10th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 45th, 50th, 55th, 60th and above (if they have notified coordinator in advance), but all welcome. DRIVERS URGENTLY REQUIRED to transport parishioners to & from the above. There is a list in all church porches. Please sign up today. Please deliver by 2.45 and collect approx 5pm; please deliver to door then park elsewhere. Helpers also required to assist from cars to church .

A STRAWBERRY TEA and Raffle will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 11th, 2.30—4pm at the convent. Tickets are available after Mass, £3. All the proceeds will be sent directly to the Sisters of Jesus and Mary abroad who work directly with the poor. Last year we helped to buy farming materials in Haiti and practical materials for Africa to help people earn their living. In Syria, Sr Catherine helped a poor family who wanted to abort a child for fear that they would have another girl—they now have a beautiful son! PLEASE COME ALONG AND SUPPORT. The Sisters are very grateful for your help. THE FAMILY OF JESUS AND MARY remind all members that their next meeting is on THURSDAY, 25th JUNE at 7,30pm at the convent. Sister Sheila Gosney will be giving an illustrated talk about her travels. ALL WELCOME
