1. Striated Muscle (Otot Lurik) Skeletal muscle, or striated muscle, is a muscle that primarily composes human body. A skeletal muscle attaches to bones by connective tissues called tendons. A tendon is a thick, fibrous, compact tape that connects a muscle to a bone. Skeletal muscles are voluntary muscles. You can control the use of this type of muscles. You can decide when to walk and when not to walk.

Three types of muscular tissues 2. Smooth muscles (Otot Polos) • Smooth muscles are involuntary. • A smooth muscle can be found on the wall of your stomach, small intestine, womb, gall, and your blood vessels. Smooth muscles contract and relax slowly. This kind of muscles is not marked with light ridges or it is not striated

3. Cardiac muscles (Otot Jantung) A cardiac muscle is only found in our heart. A cardiac muscle is also involuntary a cardiac muscle has striation like skeletal muscles. Cardiac muscles work like smooth muscles that is involuntary. A cardiac muscle contracts around 70 times in a minute all day long in your life.

Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Rachitis/Ricket It happen due to the dietary deficiencies of Vitamin D, which helps absorb calcium and phosphor from the blood for the hardening of bone. This disease attacks kids Rickets cause the leg bones to develop into curved bones
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Rachitis/Ricket
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Osteoporosis Osteoporosis is caused by dietary deficiency of minerals. Try to remember how many kinds of minerals there are in your bone. Osteoporosis generally attacks adults
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Osteoporosis
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Arthritis Arthritis is a joint disease. The person who suffers from this disease has damaged joint cartilage. The damage makes the joint hurt. Sometimes, the arthitic joints are unmoveble. Rheumatism is one kind of arthritis
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Arthritis
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Fractured bone In spite of being strong and elastic, bones can break. The breaking of bone is called fracture. Closed fracture happens when a bone breaks, and the ends of the broken bone do not cut through the skin. Opened fracture happens when the end of the broken bone cuts through the skin.
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Fractured bone
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Fractured bone
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Kyphosis Kyphosis is a disorder that is marked with an excessive curve of the backbone toward the rear. When one suffers from kyphosis, his/her body looks humpbacked. Kyphosis can be caused by diseases (for example, tuberculosis and rickets) or wrong habits of sitting
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Kyphosis
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Lordosis Lordosis is a kind of a bone disorder with backbone that curves excessively forward around the waist. When one suffers from this disorder, his/her waist looks protruding forward. Lordosis can be caused by oversized stomach (for example, due to pregnancy or obesity), rickets, or wrong habits
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Lordosis
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Scolisosis Scoliosis is the curving of backbone sideward. Scoliosis can be caused by polio or wrong habits of sitting.
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Scolisosis
Diseases and Disorders in the Musculoskeletal System • Loose Joints
