Scientist Project Purpose: To learn more about the development of atomic and nuclear theories and make connections to history and the process of scientific discovery. Procedure: 1) Choose a scientist ____________________________ 2) Research your scientist with regard to biographical information and their contribution to atomic and/or nuclear theory. 3) Create a memorial for them including the information below. 4) Be prepared to share your research in class in a 2-3 min presentation. Data: 1) Large picture (drawn or computer generated) of the scientist’s head. 2) Birth and death dates as well as a brief biography 3) Where they were when they did the work. 4) The status of atomic or nuclear theory before their contribution. 5) How they contributed to modern theory. 6) Pivotal experiments, equations or data/graphs they are associated with. Format: 1) 11x17 in portrait orientation. 2) Text at least 16pt font 3) At least one picture or diagram other than their head. 4) Site references (at least 2) on the back of the poster.
