Taken from the First Edition of the Pilot in September 1970 George Hayes, Chairman of the Board of Directors had the following comments to pass onto property owners: “The purpose of the Homeowners Association is to build a better community through joint action. The H.O.A. has already made itself self known outside of the Redwood Shores area by attendance at the City Council meetings, with Rep, Pete Mc Closkey and liaison with Leslie Properties, Inc.. The H.O.A. was created by the Homeowners and will have to be supported by all the homeowners to be successful. Only paid up members of the H.O.A. can vote on any issue. If you have not already paid your duesplease do so, If you are not a member and would like to support your association, please contact Ed Edelstein or myself.”

Dear Shores Neighbor November 2009

Your Redwood Shores Community Association celebrates it’s 40th year in 2010. Since 1970, we have seen Redwood Shores grow from a small collection of houses, a few businesses, and no schools, to the thriving beautiful community - soon to have two schools - we enjoy today. In our 40 years RSCA has worked to make Redwood Shores an even better place to live and work. To support our efforts and your community, please renew your membership for 2010. If you have not been a member in the past, join RSCA now as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary in 2010!

Our many year-round activities are made possible by your support and the larger our membership the more effective we can be as advocates for Redwood Shores. For more than 18 months, RSCA has been THE voice of the Shores in pushing Redwood City to resolve our levee emergency, and the City has responded by developing a plan to improve and have our levees certified by FEMA in advance of the certification deadline in September 2010. RSCA will stay on top of this issue for the duration of the project and will keep you up to date in our monthly publication, The Pilot, and on our web site at www.rsca.org Taken from RSCA’s 2010 membership letter written by Doug Crisman, RSCA President.
