NARRATIVE REPORT ON NATIONAL DEWORMING DAY ROUND 2 January 24, 2017, the Department of Health in coordination with the Department

Education
through

and
Nutrition
Center
simultaneously held the National School Deworming Day Round 2 to all public schools in the Philippines. In line with this program, Ampianga Elementary School effectively conducted the said activity. This is to increase the number of dewormed school children and to ensure that more children will be spared from parasitism for better health and school performance. As to the conduct of the deworming there are phases to be followed to guarantee it will be safely done. The phase 1 or pre – implementation wherein we conducted a general PTA meeting to explain and convince parents to let their children deworm, the printing of needed materials like parent consent, and the screening of eligible pupils for deworming. The phase 2 - implementation or the deworming day, through the initiative of the teachers the school was able to provide the children with feeding in which menu is rice, vegetables and fish. The school tapped parents to cook for the prepared food, the active parents voluntarily prepared for the food. We conducted hand washing, feeding, tooth brushing and at 10:00 in the morning simultaneous intake of Albendazole tablet well done, and the observation for any adverse effects. The phase 3 – post implementation, the making, consolidating and sending of school reports.
In our school, 135 pupils were elligible for deworming and 135 (100%) were successfully dewormed.
