“ The White people were talkin’ a lot of trash and we put them in their place.”
We all knew it was going to happen and amidst so much anticipation, the Minorities and White Folk finally squared off for round two of the Racial Bowl™. Every little colored and white kid grows up dreaming about playing in the Racial Bowl™. Following last year’s debacle in the Lion’s Den, the white folk could not wait for a shot at redemption. Well, they are going to have to wait another year, because the Minorities simply had too much speed. The White Folk had a sheer size advantage, but the old cliché that speed kills still
holds true. The White Folk looked like they were running in mud the entire night. Windeon McDowell started off the scoring with an impressive catch and the Minorities never looked back. Everyone got involved in the score fest and when the game was over the Minorities prevailed 35-14. This victory is symbolic of the equality that Martin Luther King Jr. dreamt of in 1963. His legacy lives on through the blood of the four young women and men who represented the non-whites. The Minorities could not
have pictured the game any better. Valerie Truong said, “I am satisfied. I felt like we played our hearts out and you can’t ask for any more.” Ankur Verma stated, “ The White people were talkin’ a lot of trash and we put them in their place.” This quote shows the type of intensity and emotion that both squads play with. No one wants to lose this game, but in the end someone has to. It looks like the White folk will have to wait yet another year.
