EXPERIENCE: INTERNSHIP – Waverley Elementary, Frederick, MD

January - Present

➢ Second Grade Student Internship from the Frostburg State University Education Program at Waverley Elementary School in the Frederick County Public School System (FCPS) under the mentor of Amy Tranum and supervisor Suzanne O’Toole. Internship lasted 70 days. .

Basic Responsibilities: Teaching lessons in mathematics, language arts, science, writing, and foundations. Teaching an integrated five-day unit using with pre- and post-tests. Teaching for ten full days without intervention, five of which were consecutive. Attending and participating in parent-teacher conferences. Attending and participating in all team meetings and professional learning events. Reflecting daily with mentor teacher. .

INTERNSHIP – Waverley Elementary, Frederick, MD

September - November 2018

➢ Kindergarten Student Internship from the Frostburg State University Education Program at Waverley Elementary School in the Frederick County Public School System (FCPS) under the mentor of Laura Rottmund and supervisor Suzanne O’Toole. Internship lasted 30 days. .

Basic Responsibilities: Teaching lessons in mathematics, language arts, science, writing, and foundations. Teaching two integrated five-day units with pre- and post-tests. Teaching for five full days without intervention, three of which were consecutive. Attending and participating in parent-teacher conferences. Attending and participating in all team meetings and professional learning events. Reflecting daily with mentor teacher. .

PALS SUMMER LITERACY PROGRAM -University System of Maryland in Hagerstown

Summer 2018

➢ First Grade Teaching, through AmeriCorps, in FSU’s Promoting Awareness of Literacy Skills (PALS) summer program geared to students K-5 to help prevent “Summer Loss”. STEAM based curriculum, exploratory environment, geared at creating students who love to read for fun. Lasts six weeks over the summer and has mainly students who are low-income and at-risk. .

Basic Responsibilities: Lesson planning and teaching full days’ worth of lessons for six weeks with the partnership of two additional Frostburg education program colleagues. Lessons are geared around Language Arts Standards for 1st grade. Administering food via Free Summer Meal Program to all students for breakfast and lunch. .

ASSISTANTSHIP -Middletown Elementary, Frederick, MD

March- April 2018

➢ Fourth Grade Student Assistantship from the Frostburg State University Education Program at Middletown Elementary School in the Frederick County Public School System (FCPS) under the mentor of Andrea Eyler and supervisor Amy Watson. Assistantship lasted 15 days. .

Basic Responsibilities: Teaching an integrated five-day unit with pre- and post-tests. Co-Teaching with a colleague in the education program. Assisting teaching students when designated. Attending all team meetings. Reflecting daily with mentor teacher.

Placement -Sargent Shriver, Hagerstown, MD

November 2017

➢ Head Start Head Start Placement from the Frostburg State University Education Program at Sargent Shriver in Washington County under the mentor of Tina Cherry and supervisor Patricia Craven. Placement lasted 8 days. .

Basic Responsibilities: Teaching two lessons in math and literacy. Assisting mentor teacher with daily lessons including teaching students when designated. Reflecting daily with mentor teacher. .

LA PETITE ACADEMY - Frederick, MD

August 2014- August 2018

➢ Preschool Lead preschool teacher at an accredited La Petite Academy Preschool. Worked with ages from Infant - School Age. .

Basic Responsibilities: Leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans according to company standards. Oversee the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards. Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the children. Maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized.
