The meeting was called to order by Mayor Knoll at 7:15 p.m. Corbett: That the agenda for the July 20, 2009 meeting be accepted as amended. CARRIED.
Minutes – Regular June 15 237.2009 Reimer: That the minutes of the June 15, 2009 regular meeting be adopted. CARRIED. Rescind #232.2009 238.2009 Helmuth: That resolution #232.2009 be rescinded. CARRIED. Minutes – Special June 22 239.2009 Janzen: That the minutes of the June 22, 2009 special meeting be adopted. CARRIED. Delegation

July List of Accounts 243.2009 Greve: That Council approve the July list of accounts, cheque numbers 9305 to 9402 in the amount of $811,990.85. CARRIED. Condo Proposal – Span West Farms (as amended by #294.2009, September 8/09) 244.2009 Greve: That the committee recommend to Council to make the following proposal to Span West Farms/Joe Remai for a 24-unit condo located on the land at the corner of 7th Street and 1st Avenue: an option giving Span West/Joe Remai 120 days to purchase the land purchase price $200,000 $100,000 Town to provide a six-inch waterline and a six-inch sewer line to the building the Town to waive onsite development fees a three-year 100% tax exemption on all condo units the Town to promote the project at the Homestyles Show and other trade fairs they might attend. Set Up Special Committee 245.2009 Greve: That a committee of three Council members be set up to oversee the renovation of the upper floor of the post office as a residence for healthcare professionals and also to establish strategies and approach other municipalities for future endeavours. CARRIED. Special Committee Appointment 246.2009 Hinz: That Don Greve, Dom Corbett and Dennis Helmuth be appointed to a special committee to deal with a residence for interim healthcare professionals and establish strategies with other municipalities for retention of healthcare professionals. Security System 247.2009 Helmuth: That the Town upgrade some of the security systems in Town facilities to ensure proper security. CARRIED. Administration Reports 248.2009 Corbett: That the following administration reports be accepted as presented: a) Town Administrator’s Report b) Outside Superintendent’s Report c) Transit Report CARRIED. Heritage Area in Cemetery 249.2009 Corbett: That the Town designate the following area of the south part of the old cemetery as a heritage area, and that headstones of any size be allowed in this area of the cemetery: Lots 228 to 350, which are located south of the most southerly road in the old cemetery. CARRIED. Memorial Forest Designation (appears as amended by 283.2009) 250.2009 Greve: That the memorial forest in the Town’s cemetery be designated as a place to spread ashes, with the information of the deceased being recorded at the Town Office and that a fee of $200 be charged. CARRIED. Committee Reports 251.2009 Hinz: That the following committee reports be accepted as presented: a) Finance & Administration, June 15 b) Parks & Cemeteries, June 17 c) Town & Country Fair, June 23 and July 6 d) Town Office Building, July 7 and 10 CARRIED. Harv’s Autobody Correspondence 252.2009 Corbett: That the Town correspond to Harv Britton acknowledging his letter of concern regarding the July 7 fire of a shed on Town property. CARRIED.

Ladies’ Golf Fore the Cure 253.2009 Reimer: That the Town donate $50 to the Golf Fore the Cure being held in Rosthern in August. CARRIED. Correspondence 254.2009 Janzen: That the following correspondence be received and filed for information: a) Minister of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing CARRIED. Rosthern Food Store 255.2009 Reimer: That the following 2009 taxes for Rosthern Food Store, tax record #340 000, be cancelled due to an error in assessment: Municipal $1,197.30 School 532.01 CARRIED. Ed Ens Base Tax Cancellation 256.2009 Reimer: That Council cancel the base tax of $300 on EEE Sales & Rental property located east of Highway #11. DEFEATED.
