My first Vise Workshop was in Quilpue. Honestly, I was nervous about my Vise. I usually heard bad comments about the High School and how often teachers renounce to their jobs. I remember that I went to the High School alone, because it was a problem with the university organization. Finally I was accepted. In general the personal were very nice with but they were so surprised about how young are the students that were taking the Vise workshop course. I used to wear a white apron and I organised my things in the teacher`s room like the professional teachers. Everything was right, but the things changed when I met the students. I had to observe two differents classes, both were first year. I think that I observed only two o three classes. All the time I worked very hard, doing worksheets, papers and answering doubts. Once, the teacher did not arrive and I took the class. I decided to improvise something quick and fortunately everything worked that day. Days were passing and I saw somethings that I really impressed me. The students had a awful behavior but anyway, sometimes I was not agree with the teacher's attitude. She shouted them for every reason. Once, I saw how the english teacher ploted to exclude one student from his classes. I was shocked because I wanted to say something but I couldn't do it. I asked to myself - Should I be like this teacher? No, definitively no. Probably she is tired about how their profession is not admired Why students don`t like english? Probably because teachers don`t know how to teach in a interesting way. Other reason could be that teenagers don`t realize the importance of the english.
Is shouting the only way to keep their attention? I don`t think so , but perhaps she doesn`t has the right methodology and the only way that she has is shouting every time, every day and for everything. My experience was rewarding anyway.
