4 4 5

3
Is able to retell what has been read in own words without teacher’s support
Observations: • He has difficulty reading “gh” words (“high”, “mighty” etc) • He is able to make many connections between text and self/book/world • He has trouble with Subject/Predicate agreement (“He like” instead of “He likes”) and with WORD ORDER (placement of words in a sentence) SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENT -
He should not rush into speaking about the book: he gets very excited as he speaks (he is eager to show what he read) and does not pay attention to word order sometimes.
Otherwise, I am happy with his progress! He chooses appropriate books, likes challenges and is a REFLECTIVE reader (he uses picture clues and makes lots of connections).
