My favorite biome is the Rainforest. The Rainforest is a very special place. It is a place that depends on its climate and soil type. It is a place that has many different types of living things that get their energy from many different places. It is very sensitive to change, and if you change the population of one species, all the other populations change too! My biome has a unique climate and soil type. The average temperature in the rainforest is between 68 to 93 degrees. An average of 50 to 250 of rain falls yearly. In the rainforest, the soil is rich and fertile. The temperature, fertile soil, and rain helps the plants grow. The plants provide food for the animals. My biome has many different living things that get their energy from different places. A producer is a plant that gets its energy from the sun. Consumers are animals that get their energy from other consumers and producers. Decomposers are organisms that get their energy from dead decaying plants. In the rainforest, Bromeliads and Paw Paws are examples of producers. Cup fungus is a decomposer. These are some consumers in my biome Boa constrictor, Leafcutter ant, Spider monkeys, Dart frog, Black Caiman, Lar gibbons, preying mantice, Dung beetle, Quetzal. My biome is very sensitive to change. If you change the population of one species, all the other populations begin to change. If the Spider monkeys are removed, there will be many plants because the Spider monkeys will not be around to eat them. If the Leafcutter ants are removed, there will be less Dart frogs because the Dart frog will have less food to eat. If the Quetzal is removed, there will be more Bromeliads because the Quetzal will not be around to eat them. If the Black Caimans were removed, there would be more turacos because the Black Caiman would not be around to eat them. As you can see, the Rainforest is a very special place. It is a special place because the population of the different species depends on each other for survival. It is a special place because different living things get their energy from different places. It is a special place because all the living things depend on the climate and soil type. Thank you for visiting this special place, my favorite biome the RAINFOREST!
