Skill: The competence to do something well, be that physical, mental or otherwise. Skills are usually learned through experience and hard work. Quality: A personality or character trait, such as hard working, or Merciful. Qualities may take time to develop and can be influenced by your environment, morals and beliefs. The difference between a quality and a skill is fairly straightforward, skill is something acquired through practice, training or if you’re lucky and born with it. It may be something physical like being able to easily shoot a basketball through a hoop, or something mental such as being able to do large mathematical equations in your head. A quality however is more to do with you as a person the way you perceive and process information. If you are hard working for example, you are so for a purpose, maybe it’s the way you were brought up or maybe it’s that you’re ambitious and are working towards a goal of some sort. Therefore qualities are mindsets and skills are competence.
