A Network is a set of two or more communication resources which are connected for the purpose of information or resource sharing. Types of Networks LAN (Local Area Network) MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) WAN (Wide Area Network)
Lan (Local area network LAN includes a set of computers which was expanded upto a certain kms.It may be Includes only upto a office or building. Bus, Ring or Star topology work under the LAN. Twisted pair, Co-exial cable or Fibre optic Is used in LAN.

MAN includes a set of computers which was expanded upto a City or metropolitan area. It may be like a cable network.It may be run by any association.Twisted pair, Co-exial cable is used in LAN.
wan (wide area network) WAN includes a set of computers which was expanded upto a large geographical area. LAN may be also connected to a WAN.It may includes a network expanded upto a group of Countries. Routers, Bridges are are used in WAN.It provides a high speed transmission. Coommunication is done through satellites or Telephone lines.
