Objectives of Project To facilitate Asian developing countries in formulating coherent and effective domestic frameworks for regulating public procurement and ensuring effective implementation Facilitating effective partnerships by Asian developing countries in international trade agreements on procurement Facilitate EU Asian trade with respect to public procurement
To establish an EU-Asia inter-university network for teaching and research in public procurement

Public Procurement Academic Network (PLAN) : see http://www.publicprocurement.org; Launched in January 2009 A permanent global network of academics (professors, researchers etc) interested in issues relating to procurement law and regulatory policy. Facilitates contacts among academics in public procurement Publicising research and publications, seminars, conferences in public procurement Events, news, research projects

Two categories of membership ◦ Academic members Full or part time Law Other disciplines such as economics, business management, public policy and political science, with interest in the regulatory policy in public procurement
◦ Associate members – non-academics but who have engagement or interest in academic work relating to public procurement (government, industry, international organizations, students of taught courses in universities
