Ethics • Ethics is a branch of philosophy dealing with right and wrong in human behavior. • It is also said that ethics is a major branch of philosophy, encompassing right conduct and good life. It is significantly broader than the common conception of analyzing right and wrong. A central aspect of ethics is "the good life", the life worth living, which is held by many philosophers to be more important than moral conduct.

Ethical teachings of Islam • The Prophet (peace be upon him) use to say: "The best of you are those who have the best morals. (Bukhari) • Abu Huraira said, The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The most perfect of the believers in faith is the best of them in moral excellence, and the best of you are the kindest of you to their wives. (Tirmidhi). • Aswad said, I asked A'isha, "What did the Prophet (peace be upon him) do when in his house? She said, he served his wife, meaning that he did work for his wife. (Bukhari).

Ethical teachings of Islam • Anas said, The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Help thy brother whether he is the doer of wrong or wrong is done to him." They (his companions) said, "O Messenger of Allah! We can help a man to whom wrong is done, but how could we help him when he is the doer of wrong?" He said: "Take hold of his hands from doing wrong." (Bukhari). • Anas said reported, The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not hate one another and be not jealous of one another and do not boycott one another, and be servants of Allah (as) brethren; and it is not lawful for a Muslim that he should sever his relations with his brother for more than three days." (Bukhari).

Ethical teachings of Islam • Ibn Abbas said, The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "He is not of us who does not show mercy to our little ones and respect to our great ones. (Tirmidhi). • He who is deprived of gentleness is deprived of good. (Muslim). • Righteousness is good character, and sin is that which revolves in your heart and which you do not want people to know. (Muslim). • I have been sent to perfect good character. (Muwatta, Ahmad).

Ethical teachings of Islam • Among the best of you [are they] who have the best character. (Bukhari, Muslim). • Modesty is part of faith and faith is in paradise, but obscenity is part of hardness of heart and hardness of heart is in hell. (Ahmad, Tirmidhi). • .O Allah as Thou hast made my form beautiful so make my character beautiful. (Ahmad). • The believers whose faith is most perfect are those who have the best character. (Abu Dawud, Darimi).
