POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: October 15, 2009 Contact: Captain Leo Vereen Suspect Arrested on Drug Charges On Thursday, October 08, 2009 the Chapel Hill Police Departments Narcotics unit concluded a joint drug investigation with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and Carrboro Police department. With the cooperation of the SBI, DEA and US Marshalls Service, Ashuntee Derod Baker, of 3350 Farrington Pointe Road, Chapel Hill, NC was arrested after being indicted by a Federal Grand Jury. He is charged with four counts of distribution of “crack’ cocaine and one count of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. This arrest was a part of an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Chatham County area.
