Search Warrant Leads to Arrest of Two Men Lake Wales, Florida – On November 4, 2009, Lake Wales Police Department's

Special Investigations Section, with the assistance of the Special Weapons and Tactics Teams, served a search warrant at 524 Washington Ave., after an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics from that residence. Arrested during the search warrant were: James Calvin Kindley, 10/12/1972 Charged with possession of cocaine.

Carlos O'Vincent Vann, 10/17/1961 Charged with possession of Marijuana with intent to sell within 1000' of a church.

During this search warrant Detectives seized 12.4 grams of cocaine (crack and powder), 11.9 grams of marijuana and $397.26. This is the second search warrant served at this residence in just over a month. On 09/23/2009 investigators served a search warrant after an investigation revealed that illegal narcotics were being sold. Kindley was also arrested during that warrant. The Lake Wales Police Department's Special Investigations Section, which is responsible for investigating drug sales within the City of Lake Wales, hopes to send a clear message, to those that want to destroy our community by selling drugs, “we will not stop”. This is the 5th search warrant in the past few months under Operation Crack Down. The Special Investigation Section is working hand in hand with the Community Oriented Policing Squad to clean our community of the drug use and sales which have plagued us for years. Detective Sergeant Griffin Crosby encourages anyone with information concerning drug sales within the City to call the Heartland Crime Stoppers at (800)226-8477. You do not have to give your name and may receive a monetary reward for information that leads to the arrest of anyone committing a crime.
