Assignment No. 1 1. How do you develop within yourself the skills of being productive and accountability? In the context of GURO21, I can develop within myself the skills of being productive and accountable in gearing myself with the Four Pillars of learning in education. On the review of Delor’s article his speech held by French economist and politicians, he talks on the current growth of continuing educations, he discusses on basic education, the current challenge and emphasizes the four pillars of education. Delor’s reported in Zhou 2006, Education is at the heart of both personal and community development; it’s mission is to enable each of us, without exception, to develop all our talents to the full and to realize our creative potentials, including responsibility for our own lives and achievement of personal aims. The Four Pillars of Learning serves as the foundation of principles for reshaping the education, it also allows me to take my journey from continues learning throughout life to keep learning meaningful to leave together in peace and harmony on a globalizing digital age. As 21st century teacher, I must continue to ignite the fire that fuels my learners thirst for knowledge, curiosity, and wisdom in order to gain the competencies they need to outstand in the future. Therefore, lifelong learning skills and competencies are necessary for gaining self-esteem and the power to control one’s own life. 2. How do you increase your productivity so that you will have high quality results and facilitate learning in your 21st century classroom? I start by planning my smart goal challenge to begin my journey also called Smart PLLP. My Personal Lifelong Learning Plan is a smart goal. A S.M.A.R.T goal refers to specific, measurable, attainable, results-focused, and time-bound to adopt to changing world. These frame works are in line with the idea of changing the ways of thinking, ways of working communicatively, working Information literacy (includes research on sources and evidence) and ways of living in the world of citizenship – local and global, (Binkley, M., et. al, 2010: Griffin, P., 2015, Thayer, T., 2018 in ATC21s.org. 2009) This plan will guide me in dealing my learners cultural diversity. For me to increase my productivity, I need to update myself in the current attributes characteristics of 21st century. I should apply the Four Pillars of Learning, act as a facilitator, learner-centered and practice lifelong learning skills. The application of how to learn, development of the head, and mastery of the instrument, a shift from skills to competencies, acquisition of the skills, awareness on how do and understanding, development of attitudes, are the process of the leaners minds getting to its full possible development. This is the aim of education, not knowledge but action.

3. What is your accountability in the 21st century education? It is my huge accountability to develop my learner’s 21st century lifelong learning skills. It is my responsible to provide them the learning tools they needed, knowledge, selfdirected learning, making connections, structured knowledge, learning how to learn, observing, reading with comprehension, data gathering, note taking, assessing, processing and selecting information, listening, innovative, and competent. These are the physical manifestations of accountability, it’s objective makes it clearer, and easier to reach”. (Ball, B., and Hallez, T., 2018) Learning is a continues process of life, every individual must able to earn his livelihood and be a good citizen of the society as he needs to be realistic and attainable to be successful” (Capeland, B., 2018) References: Ball, B., and Hallez, T., 2018, “Yourcoach”, www. Reflection “This desire for equity must not lead to an excess of welfare, where nobody is responsible for anything. “ Jacques Delors

SMART goal writing is a challenge to start the journey to explore my choices and interests in life. This PLLP information is designed to help me navigate through this phase in the professional and personal development process. My Personal Lifelong Learning Plan is a SMART goal. A S.M.A.R.T goal refers to specific, measurable, attainable, resultsfocused, and time-bound professional and personal development process (PLLP). Explain below shows my definition of each of the S.M.A.R.T PLLP goal principles. Specific My goals must be simplistically carved and vividly define what I am aiming to do to equip me with Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, Values and Ethics (KSAVE) model for the 21 century. By May 24, 2019, GURO21, Course 1, will be fully accomplished, implemented and evaluated for me to finally apply my PLLP on June 2019 onwards. To make things possible I need to analyze the frameworks of my skills and categories as follows: st

First, my ways of thinking, creativity and innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making and the learning to learn, metacognition. Second, my ways of working communicatively and collaboratively (teamwork). Third, my tools for working Information literacy (includes research on sources and evidence) and Information Communication Technology literacy. And the Fourth, my ways of living in the world of citizenship – local and global, life and career and personal & social responsibility – including diverse cultural awareness. (Binkley, M., et. al, 2010: Griffin, P., 2015, Thayer, T., 2018 in ATC21s.org. 2009) Measurable Goals must be measurable so that I have concrete evidence that I have accomplished the goal. Generally, the whole SMART PLLP goal statement is a base for the ResultsBased Performance Management System (RPMS) with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) as Mode of Verifications (MOV’s), but usually short-term measurements built into the goal. “Measurable goals can go a long way in refining what exactly it is that you want, too. Defining the physical manifestations of your goal or objective makes it clearer, and easier to reach”. (Ball, B., and Hallez, T., 2018)

A goal without a measurable outcome is like teaching without responsibilities or accountabilities. Numeracy is an essential part of education. Putting concrete numbers in my goals for me to know if I am on the right track. For instance, a whiteboard posted in my classroom can serve as a daily reminder to keep myself and my colleagues focused on the targeted RPMS- PPST results you want to attain. Attainable Goals must be achievable; they should stretch you slightly so you feel challenged, but defined well enough so that you can achieve them. “Your goal also needs to be realistic and attainable to be successful” (Capeland, B., 2018). You must possess the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to achieve the goal. Determination serves as the foundation of attaining one’s professional lifelong learning plan. Far too often, teachers can set goals beyond reach. Like the eight Millennium Development Goals, no one has ever developed productivity and high-quality education overnight. Policy makers and the government discard countless enhance school improvement plans of development with outlandish goals. An adage says, “Dream big and aim high for the stars but keep one foot firmly based in reality.” Results-focused Goals must measure outcomes, not activities. Developing learner's lifelong skills is a manifestation of results-based performance and quality education. Achievable educational goals are based on the current conditions and realities of the education disciplines. I may desire to have the best year in the National Achievement Test (NAT) or increase the periodical examination of the learner's academic mastery and perforce by 50%, but if a recession is looming and the teachers are not the 21st century quipped, then my goals aren’t relevant to the realities of the development of the education sector. Time-bound Goals must be connected to a timeframe that generates a practical sense of determination or results in tension between the current reality and the vision of the goal. Without such tension, the goal is unlikely to produce a relevant outcome. My PLLP SMART goals and objectives just don’t get done when there's no time frame tied to the goal-setting process. Whether my goal is to be responsible and accountable for the 21st century skilled teacher or an agent of change to facilitate learning to increase productivity and high-quality results, I just choose a time-frame to accomplish my goal.

Once my PLLP are SMART, break down each goal into a specific productive set of accounting tasks and activities to accomplish my goals. It’s important to periodically review my goals and make adjustments if necessary. Goal setting for personal lifelong learning plan is an essential tool for high success. Remember in the end to be SMART.
