Hansee Tournament 2009 Serving •The first serve is determined by a coin toss (one tosses, one calls in the air) •Two serves per player per rotation •The ball must bounce on your side before crossing the net •If the ball hits the net and goes over on a serve (a ‘let’), you may re-serve without penalty •The fourth let is a point and a lost serve •Faulty serves (excluding lets) are points on the other side and count as a serve •When serving, the last contact with the ball must be with the paddle Scoring •Points can be scored on either player’s serve •Rounds are played to 11 and you must win by 2 points Playing •Quadrants do not matter •Hitting the net is allowed •Balls hitting the line are in •If you touch the ball, it’s yours – even if it’s out •Hands and wrist are an extension of the paddle when holding the paddle Safety •Keep play within the blue lines – any ball crossing these lines is out regardless of how it is played •Grab the ball when retrieving it – do not hit from across the room
