Ms. Wagoner’s Weekly Newsletter May 25 – May 29, 2009 What have we been up to? This week in math, we finished our unit on algebra. Students were tested on input/output tables, expressions, equations, exponents, and the order of operations. Next week, we will be doing a short data project. We also started a big unit on Westward Expansion this week. Students learned about pioneer life in the late 1800s and will be doing more research next week in groups. Students did a terrific job at our track and field meet on Wednesday. Students showed sportsmanship and gave each event their best effort. Thank you to the parents who came out and cheered us on! We wrapped up MAP testing for the year on Monday. Students did an excellent job with the math test and showed many improvements! On Friday, we participated in a drumming exchange with Sheridan Elementary School. Students worked with a partner from that school and played different types of instruments throughout the day. They had a great time!
