5 Grade Track and Field day is Wednesday, May 20. We will be heading over to Lakeaires Elementary School in the morning. Parents are welcome to come and cheer us on!

Ms. Wagoner’s Weekly Newsletter May 18 – May 22, 2009 What have we been up to? This week in math, we continued our unit on algebra. Students reviewed equations and also worked with exponents. We also practiced and reviewed the order of operations. On Monday, we finished our Animal Research Project by presenting our information to the class. Students did an excellent job on their projects! Looking ahead… On Monday, May 18, students will be taking their final MAP test of the year. We are hoping to make some great progress! We will also be starting our final Social Studies unit on Westward Expansion. Next week we will also wrap up our math unit on Algebra. Our unit test will be on Thursday. We also have Track and Field day on Wednesday. Make sure that your child dresses appropriately, as we will be outside the majority of the day. It is also a good idea to send a water bottle. On Friday, May 22, 5th graders will participate in a drumming exchange. They will be partnered up with a student from another school and will be exposed to different types of music throughout the day. We are looking forward to another great week!
