In circle 8.8 Dante talks about one of the Counselors and acts like a jerk. In circle 8.7 Dante begins to be enlightened With knowledge about Hell and does not feel Any remorse or pity to the people in Hell.

Dante is shocked by what the thieves Have to endure as their punishment but still Does not feel sorry for them.
