I, Phil Friedl, understand that if I am not obedient to the Vicar of Christ, I am in the state of damnation. I, Phil Friedl, understand that the Spirit of obedience takes precedence over the letter of obedience. I, Phil Friedl, understand that I will commit sin if I disobey my Superior, who is a visible authoritative representative of God. I, Phil Friedl, understand that should my Superior command an action that is contrary to the Divine Laws, teachings of the Church or her practices (God forbid), I ought not to obey. I, Phil Friedl, understand my works will be worthless if I follow my own will rather than my Superior's will. I, Phil Friedl, understand that I will be punished by God if I follow my own will rather than my Superior. I, Phil Friedl, understand that my Superior is God's representative on Earth. I, Phil Friedl, understand that obedience to the Divine Laws are the key to perfection, sanctification, and salvation. I, Phil Friedl, understand when the Vicar of Christ dies I must elect a successor as soon as possible for the protection of unity in Christ's flock. I, Phil Friedl, understand that I must guard and be obedient to the rites of the Sacraments used by the Church to prevent others as well as myself from committing sacrileges. I, Phil Friedl, understand that I must die obedient to the Church, her teachings, and the Roman Pontiff if I desired to be saved. I, Phil Friedl, have the perfect use of reason. I, Phil Friedl, have the intention of making the vow. I, Phil Friedl, have sufficient freedom and deliberation. I, Phil Friedl, am not forbidden by the positive law to take this vow of obedience. I, Phil Friedl, am taking God as my witness to this event. I am also taking the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Angels, the Saints, the Poor Souls in purgatory as witnesses to vowing obedience to my superior. I, Phil Friedl, am making a perpetual vow of obedience to God on the 8th of December of 2009. On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Witness:
