Project Management as a Strategic Competency
PMI South Florida Chapter
As a professional involved in the Project Management world, you should be taking advantage of the current economic circumstances to position yourself for future opportunities and use innovative approaches, guided by a strategic vision, to meet the current market challenges. • Drive strategic initiatives across business units and the entire organization. • Lead changes though innovation within the organization to achieve high performance. • Achieve in a contracting economy with fewer resources and fewer margins for error. For some, innovation has manifested itself while adjusting to new challenges such as transitioning to a new job, managing with fewer resources, or searching for upcoming business opportunities. In such trying circumstances it may not be enough to work hard. It is also important to think strategically on how to best apply limited resources to specific goals and deliver on a vision for the future. Join us on October 6th when the PMI South Florida Chapter will be hosting a Day of Excellence to focus on Project Management as a Strategic Competency. Leading this discussion will be Mr. Ricardo Viana Vargas, PMP, Current PMI Chair, who will be addressing South Florida business community and industry leaders at a special morning session of the Executive Roundtable through our Center of Excellence (COE) Program. In the afternoon, our traditional Job Fair will open new opportunities for job seekers to interact with hiring and recruiting companies searching for local talent. Later in the afternoon, we will hold the second Career Day of the year, two guest speakers (Mr. Hugo Perez and Mr. Mark Hehl) will discuss how to differentiate oneself as an employee and as an entrepreneur in today’s market.
