GETTING TO KNOW YOU We want to get to know you better! After you’ve filled this form out, drop it in the offering plate, hand it to an usher, or take it to the receptionist’s desk near the breezeway. Name:_______________________________________________ Email: _______________________________________________ Address: _____________________________________________ City: ________________________________________________ State: _______________________________________________ Zip: ______________ With a hearty welcome I greet you in the name of Jesus. Perhaps like you, I’m still relishing the wonderful celebration that we enjoyed last Sunday. On Sunday afternoon as the different groups sang, I just sat there in my corner seat and wept. It was a blessing. Such a blessing. I mentioned something at the close of the service that I believe is important for us to keep in mind. As we ended the service we figuratively turned a page. We closed the book on our first 100 years and today we begin writing the first chapter for the next generations of DFC. Included in your worship folder today you’ll find a blank sheet of paper. It’s just to serve as a reminder that you get to write part of the coming history of your church. What will you write? What will be your legacy at DFC? Yes, we will all play a role in writing the next few pages. We get to decide how we’re remembered. And today we stand together, united, as we vote on whether or not to step out and purchase a new piece of land for our future. Listen…hear me…my mind is at peace regarding this vote. I believe that God still speaks through His church. I believe that God can and will use you and me to voice His will. I also believe that if we do, indeed, vote to purchase the land that those of us who are my age and older need to understand that it’s not necessarily for us. It’s an effort to secure a future for those who are currently in our Second Venue or down in the Children’s Department. Here’s the deal. Pray with all your heart and then vote as you feel led by the Holy Spirit and we’ll all live with the decision, believing that God is still in control. You know what? It helps you to relax when you face such things with that mindset. Anticipating,
