SOUTH VILLAGE OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES October 01, 2008 – Recreation Centre Chair – Kelly Yo9ungdale In attendance: Gisèle Devaney, Rick Piironen, Kelly Youngdale 1. Call to order The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. Administrative Procedures The September 10, 2008 minutes were reviewed and adopted as motioned by Kelly Youngdale and seconded by Rick Piironen. Volunteer follow-up - Rick Piironen is to contact Brad Goatcher regarding the Plant and Pool Committee. 3. Finance Committee Kelly Youngdale will contact a lawyer, Andrew Wilson, to initiate the liens on those properties with outstanding 2008 fees. Kelly to talk to Rob Wallingford as to the sequence of events to follow. The 2009 fees letter will be sent to all residents at the beginning of November 2008 with a deadline for payment of November 31st, 2008. . Cheques may be postdated to December 31st, 2008. Gisèle will prepare letters in consultation with Pauline Drummond. 4. Communication / Residents Directory / Welcoming Committee N/A Information required by the SVOA on new residents will be obtained during these visits. .

5. Recreation / Social Committee 6. N/A 7. Community Beautification Committee N/A 7. Physical Plant / Pool Committee Report The community pool was closed. Benson Pools did the closing. All the docks are now out of the water with the help of Rick Piironen, Martin and Heather Jones as well as Rob Wallingford. The picnic tables and chairs are also secured. Thanks to them. The invoice for Melissa Murphy was paid. The tennis courts will remain open until the first snow. Kelly Youngdale will go to Fitness Depot to obtain a replacement seat for the exercise bike as well as a magnet to activate the treadmill at an estimated cost of $100 for both parts. 8. Entrance Sign Committee Kelly Youngdale will contact Rob Wallingford to determine the status and report back to the committee. 9. Design Review Committee No new requests received. 10. Government Relations / Legal Committee Following Lloyd Mackey’s resignation from the Board of Directors and the Management Committee, Kelly is to contact the lawyer, Andrew Wilson, to determine next steps. 11. New Business The Agenda and Minutes will be sent out to the community one week ahead of monthly meeting and will be posted on the blog and the forum. 12. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for November 5, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., at the South Village Community Centre.
