BY HAND Daniel Marcus, Esq. General Counsel National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States 26 Federal Plaza, Suite 13-100 New York, N.Y. 10007 Re: Response to 9-11 Commission Subpoena Dear Mr. Marcus: In further response to the subpoena served on the City of New York by the Commission on November 24, 2003,1 have enclosed redacted transcripts of tapes of 189 interviews of members of the FDNY conducted as part of an oral history project by the FDNY concerning the FDNY's response to the terrorist attacks. This submission supplements the City's submission on December 3 of the transcripts of 298 interviews (not 300, as stated in my cover letter of December 3). It is made subject to the provisions of the Agreement between the City of New York and the Commission dated December 3, 2003. The City has now supplied to the Commission redacted transcripts of 487 interviews of members of the FDNY. We are working diligently to reconcile this number of interviews with our previous figure of 500 interviews and will promptly confirm that our production is complete or supplement it as necessary. Very truly yours,
Kenneth A. Becker
