What is a singular noun ?

• A singular noun names one person, one place, one thing, or one idea.

• Plural What are nouns name more than plural one person, nouns ? place, thing or idea.

Most all nouns

• Are made plural by adding –s or –es.

7 Rules I Should Know...

• To form plural nouns.

#1 Add “s”

• To form the plurals of most nouns.

#2 Add “es”

• When the singular noun ends in s, sh, ch, x, or z.

• When the noun ends in a #3 Add “y” and has a “i & es” consonant before it.

• to most nouns #4 Add “s” ending in “f” or “fe”

• For some Change the “f” to nouns “v” and ending in add “es” “f” or or “s” “fe”....

#5 Add “s”

• When the singular noun ends in “o”
