Inside this issue:

Summer Time...means Outdoor Responsibility. Due to warmer weather, more people are going to be outside with their toys, strollers, and pets.

Walk dogs ONLY on a leash. It’s the LAW! Make sure to step to one side when passing another individual on the sidewalk.

Please take the time to consider your neighbors.

Also, remember summer time means toys left outside. Please don’t invite crime by leaving bikes and other toys street side or in plain view.

When walking on sidewalks, make sure to practice some side walk etiquette.

And finally, when traveling or even backing out of your driveway, take extra care to notice children on riding toys, strollers, or children that may be running after a lost ball. Let’s all have a safe and happy summer!

When you are at work, your teenager may be getting home at 2:40pm from high school. Are they at a neighbor’s house? Are the neighbor kids at your house unattended? Do they head off to the Harrington Grove park?

Harrington Grove has had a few incidents with teen age vandalism in the park, bike paths, and home owner property.

Please encourage your children to have the same pride we all have in Harrington Grove.

Dues and Don’ts Your HOA Dues are collected first by our management company, Charleston Management. If they become delinquent, they are then handed over to a lawyer, where his time and efforts start to accumulate legal fees. These legal fees must be paid, because at this point, it is both out of the HOA’s hands and the Management Company’s hands. If it reaches a state of extreme

delinquency, a lien against your home can be assessed.

If you find yourself in a dire situation. Please work with Charleston Management as soon as possible to work out a payment plan.

This means, that you cannot sell your home until your obligations are met.

For more information see: http://hghoa.com/html/architectural.html

In extreme cases, your home may head into foreclosure. Please remember that your agreement to buy property in Harrington Grove includes the HOA dues, which work to make your neighborhood a beautiful and safe place to live.

UPCOMING 7TH ANNUAL HARRINGTON GROVE GOLF TOURNAMENT In case you missed it, the best kept secret in the Harrington Grove Community is the “Annual Harrington Grove Golf Tournament”! Yes, there have been 6 previous HG Golf Tournaments. What is so much fun about this tournament is the ability to meet some “neighbors” you have never met before within Harrington Grove. Another is enjoying a great time, super golfing, and a terrific “BBQ type” get-together with your old and new friends, coupled with a fun awards ‘ceremony’. This year’s Tournament will be played at The Crossings Golf Club (I have already asked Joanie and Gary O’Lear for strokes, since they play there frequently). Proceeds from our community charity event will be donated to the House of Hope again this year. Last year we raised $818.00 for the home that turns around the lives of at risk teen girls. Again, our own Dana Parks has assisted us with a Hole-In-One prize of a beautiful Mercedes Benz automobile (Laura Vescio is already practicing…she was the closest to the pin on the hole-in-one hole last year and I mean very close). The date of the Tournament is Saturday, September 12th. Play will be a Captain’s Choice (aka Best Ball) format with a 2:00 pm shotgun start. The date has taken into consideration vacation schedules, Labor Day events and the college football schedules…we tried to take the “thinking out of it for you”. The Tournament will have at least 3 Flights to award the 1) really good golfers, 2) those who think they are really good golfers and 3) those that play a lot of tennis and wanted to be part of another great HG event! It makes no difference if you are a single player, have a two-some, three-some or four-some. The last two years we have had a mix of couples, families, guys and gal foursomes. Some “parings” came “preformed”. Others were put together by the tournament committee. We all had a wonderful time and want you to join us this year. There will be a sign up poster that will appear very soon posted at the pool or you may email either Jim Martin ([email protected] or call 919-395-6080) or Kevin Baldwin ([email protected] or call 919848-2786) or call with questions.
