The monthly meeting of Harrington Grove Community Association was held on June 25, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Francis of Assisi, the President being in the chair. All Board members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved. York Security advised that someone had spray painted the toy plane at the playground. Parks said he would remove the paint. Hutson reminded that August 4th is National Night Out and advised she had contacted Target and others to furnish items for the event. Options to replace wooden fences with vinyl throughout Harrington Grove was discussed and a section map of the fences was distributed. Snuggs will get three additional bids -- quotes to do Sections 1, 2, 3 and 10 in vinyl and quotes to replace the entire fence. The Treasurer had nothing to report. Improving security at the playground was discussed and it was decided to install two cameras rather than using the Mosquito system. Two 20-foot flagpoles will be used to mount the cameras. Snuggs will obtain prices for trenching and Hernandez will follow up with the Swim and Racquet Club re sharing the trenching price. Pringle moved the Board proceed with improving playground security, adding two poles, two cameras and trenching, the cost of which should not exceed $3,000. The motion passed after debate. Snuggs is to continue to ask the City to finish the roads acquisition of The Commons, i.e., speed limit signs, “no parking” signs, removing “private road” signs, etc. Cleanup of the paths near the playground was discussed. One bid was received of $2,068 and the Board is awaiting additional proposals for a more comprehensive solution. Parks requested the light bulbs at the entrances be replaced with fluorescent ones to save money. Hutson was requested to invite the weekend York Security officer and Ben Allen to come to Board meetings quarterly. Thereafter the Board went into Executive Session. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M. ___________________________ Connie Moore, Secretary
