Matthew 24:35 (King James Version) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. What is the importance of the Word of God? What is the importance of it not passing away? Those two questions cannot be answered unless we are certain that there is a God and that we know what the Word of God truly is. If there is a God, then we want to make sure we hear and do what He says. So, again, how can we be certain if we do not know how or when He talks? We Christians believe that there is a God that loves us and cares for us. We believe that the Bible is, without a shadow of a doubt, the Word of God and that is the reason why we try to live and be guided by it. The world today is trying to say that the Bible is just a good piece of literature and that it has no historic or spiritual value. In fact, many say it is a controversial writing that is creates bigots and homophobics. The truth is that the Bible is the Word coming from a God that loves us and who is trying to warn us of the punishment and consequences that come when we are disobedient to His Word. We need to be convinced that indeed there is a God and that He wants the best for us. We need to be convinced, because the world will question our beliefs and challenge them by trying to discredit God and His Word. The world will also try to question His work in this world. I do not know what you say or what you believe. Like Joshua, I say, “ As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” I encourage you to do the same.
