Older children and youth (12+) expressed a strong desire to be able to participate more actively in things. Home Environment: ž The main issue that highlighted inside homes are parents’ neglect and violence towards their children. Educational Environment: ž The quality teaching was often criticized, with the suggestion that teachers are often trained in delivering the curriculum required of them but they still in need.

Educational Environment: ž

Teachers using discriminatory practices towards children (children who are successful, males and females, minorities)

ž

There are gaps inside the curriculum

ž

Basic resources and facilities within schools are considered as very low.

ž

Teaching methods must be more creative in the curriculum or within the educational facilities.

Local Community: ž

Political parties within the camps seek to exert influence over children, affecting their freedoms and access to services and recreation.

ž

Local community are more dependent on UNRWA , local and international organizations.

ž

Disseminate of extremist ideology among families and youth all over Lebanon

Strategic aim1: ž

supporting young children who are most at risk of violence and neglect in the communities to provide them with opportunities to develop their confidence and to grow up in a safer, more inclusive environment.

Strategic aim2: ž

Supporting children and youth who are at risk of dropping out from school and living in particularly hard circumstances, and to help them realize their potential.

ž

We particularly focus on marginalized girls, who have restricted mobility and are being denied education, or are entering into early marriages.

ž

Direct service provision of life skills training, recreational activities and after school club for children

ž

Strengthen Parents understanding of young children’s rights and needs

ž

Raising awareness teachers about the rights of the child and contributing in improving the quality of their teaching

Strategic aim 3: ž

working with local communities, to build the capacity of those communities to take a more coordinated and inclusive approach to participatory decision-making and service provision.

Strategic aim 4: ž

Influencing the decisions of key policy makers and service providers who are responsible towards the Palestinian communities living in Lebanon to uphold the rights of Palestinian children, and to be accountable for providing appropriate services.

Creating and participating in local and regional networks of NGOS, popular committees, and active groups that involve local decision makers

ž

Building the capacity of those local and regional networks and their awareness of children’s rights, gender issues, youth issues and disability issue

ž

Working closely with women and youth groups and centers to build their awareness of issues affecting themselves , strengthen their confidence and capacity to contribute to community decisions.

ž

Building the awareness and capacity of local community bodies (NGO networks, parents’ committees etc).

ž

Actively participating in collective efforts with International NGOs and others to research and gather data on the problems facing Palestinian children and youth

ž

Using our experience of working with children and youth to provide advice and consultancy services to key service providers and regional partners

ž

Strengthen the concepts of human rights among vulnerable communities through developing sustainable models in education and community development.
