The meeting was officially opened with a prayer led by Ronelyn Tajore.
Evaluation of the mangrove tree-planting activity in Ma-a: The presiding officer asked the board members for some comments regarding the mangrove tree-planting activity in Ma-a which took place on the same day. The following were pointed out by the board members: •
Scarcity of materials such as tie box and sticks
Fund-raising activities: Ms. Dawn Kimberly Cachuela, NSRC president, opened up the topic regarding the fund-raising activities. Since the plastic bottles, cans, and newspapers to be sold in the junk shop are not enough to generate funds sufficient enough for the organization’s activities, it was decided to plan some fund-raising activities that would be participated by the NSRC members. It had been agreed by the body to have a quota of PhP3,000 per week. A meeting was scheduled on Wednesday, May 07, 2008 for the said matter. The secretary and the asst. secretary were tasked to reserve a room and post an announcement for the upcoming meeting with the NSRC members. Jeanine Ledesma suggested to the body to sell brownies for PhP10/piece. The suggestion was unanimously agreed by the members. With that, Ms. Cachuela gave each and everyone a task to sell 15 brownies starting on Tuesday, May 06, 2008. Ms. Ledesma would be the one to contact and negotiate with the owner of the bakery. It was emphasized that the collection of the plastic bottles, cans, and newspapers would be done weekly. Ms. Irish Cruzada and Mr. Wilmar Hao would be the one to assign persons responsible to collect the things stated above. Collection of such would be done weekly. It had been agreed to have a quota of PhP1,000 each week for the plastic bottles, cans, and newspapers alone. Other Matters: The presiding officer told the members that Sir Boy asked for chairs and a door for their office. It was decided that the money for those would be from the organization’s fund. Ms. Cachuela said that we could also donate our broken chairs, if we have any, to
them. They could fix and use them after. Ms. Cachuela also volunteered to be the one to look for a carpenter responsible for the door. Ms. Hazel Samar suggested if we could have the activities equally participated by each year level. Ms. Lea Pelaez also gave a suggestion of starting a meeting with a reading of the previous minutes of the meeting. The suggestions were agreed by the body. The meeting ended up at around 1:30 p.m. with a prayer led by Ronelyn Tajore.
