HISTORY Reliance Communications was set up as Reliance Infocomm in 1999 and from 2000 onwards laying of optical fibers started in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. Reliance Infocomm was inaugurated in 2002 and first of interconnect (POI) was established in New Delhi in same year. Also in that year, Reliance Communications commissioned their 1st optic fiber backbone. In 2005, this company launched global roaming facility and CDMA services. Reliance Communications was formed in 2006 and listed in Bombay and National stock exchanges.
