ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Megawatts Engineering’s Environmental policy is:

To protect & care for the environment by complying with relevant environmental legislation.



To continually improve our environment by implementing 3R -Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.



To inculcate a sense of responsibility for the environment among our employee and contractors.

The management is committed to providing the necessary resources and training needed to enable its’ employee to achieve the Health, Safety and environmental policy and objectives.

In-house rules and Regulations 1.1 All staffs, contractors, visitors and general workers must attend a safety Induction briefing. 1.2 Permanent Safety Stickers are issue to all employee inclusive of subcontractors who attended safety Induction briefing and are Non-transferable. 1.3 All visitors are to be briefed on Megawatts Safety rules and regulations and are to be escorted by respective Department Supervisor or Engineer. 1.4 Safety committee member will do random check on anyone, please cooperate with the committee member without hesitation.

Incident Reporting 2.1 Report any accident / incident within the company immediately. For First Aid treatment, we have a First Aid station at Megawatts’s workshop. 2.2 If you are injured at work, be sure to report to your immediate supervisor and notify the Safety Department. 2.3 Anyone feeling sick before or during work shall report to their supervisor and seek medical attention at the first aid station.

EMERGENCY MUSTER STATION 3.1 Ensure that everyone must know the Muster Assembly Point of the company. 3.2 Report to the Muster Assembly point upon hearing the continuous Air Siren. 3.3 Shut off all switches from main electrical source and gases from cylinders. 3.4 Do not obstruct any access in case of emergency.

GENERAL RULES 4.1 Always follow the in-house Safety Instruction and safe work procedures / method from your supervisors prior to commencement of work. 4.2 No smoking is allowed in the workshop except in designated locations. Offenders shall be banned from working in the workshop. 4.3 Get help if you are carrying a heavy / bulky load. 4.4 Use proper access and working platforms. Do not take short cut. 4.5 No horse playing while working. 4.6 Do not endanger yourself or others. 4.7 Do not throw any tools, objects and debris from height and vice versa. 4.8 Do not loiter (hang around) at any workplace unless instructed by your supervisor.

4.9 Do not stand or walk within & beneath suspended loads. 4.10 No hitch riding on forklifts and cranes. 4.11 Do not used any damage ladder / wooden ladder/ working platform on the working area. 4.12 No fighting within the company, management will not tolerate such act and will hand over the person to relevant authority. 4.13 No drinking of alcohol is allowed in the company and anyone caught drinking will be sent out off the company without hesitation. 4.14 Do not go beyond company fence. 4.15 No illegal possession of drug unless prescribed by doctor. 4.17 Personal protective Equipment (PPE): Safety helmet, glass, boot / shoe, chin strap, body harness (working at height more than 2M) to be worn in company premises (PPE Zone) at all time. 4.18 Use only certify tools & equipment within the company. Ensure equipment shall be checked & maintained regularly by competent personnel. 4.19 All production tools & equipment must have maintenance regimes with regular inspection / calibration done. 4.20 Ensure that only competent & licensed operators are allowed to operate cranes & forklift within the company. 4.21 Ensure electrical equipment wiring are properly insulated & raised above ground. 4.22 Ensure all electrical equipment switched off when not in use. 4.23 Report all defective electrical equipment & have them fixed by maintenance department.

4.24 Use only approved electrical equipment for outdoor, confined spaces and location. 4.25 Ensure all opening & dangerous place to be covered / barricaded. 4.26 Ensure all lifting hooks have safety catches. 4.27 Ensure that powered tools are not to be used in the company without a license registered with MOM egg. Ramset gun. 4.28 Hot work permit is required when doing any hot work and fire extinguisher is to be within reach when doing hot work. 4.29 Oxygen, Acetylene & LPG cylinders to be installed with flashback arrestor & non-return valve at the torch end. They all have to be upright and secured. 4.30 Oxygen & acetylene hoses are to be in good condition & checked daily for leaks. Thorough inspection to be done in 2 weeks. 4.31 Ensure that oxygen & acetylene cylinders / pallets are kept 3m apart.

4.33 Ensure permit to work is done when working in confined spaces, regular gas checking done at interval of 2 hours, proper ventilation and lighting available by supervisor. Ensure that at least one person is equipped with calibrated gas meter inside the confined space. 4.34 Ensure only 110 volts is allowed inside confined space. Used only explosion proof electrical devices inside confined space. 4.35 Ensure watchman stationed outside the manhole. If possible, name tag hanged outside the manhole and register. 4.36 Ensure good housekeeping at all times within the company. 4.37 Do not litter anywhere around the company premises. 4.38 Remove all protruding nails from timber.

GENERAL RULES

4.40 In Case sickness or injury, no matter how slight, report at once to your supervisor. In no case should an employee treat his own or someone else’s injuries or attempt to remove foreign particles from his eye. 4.41 In case if injury resulting in possible fracture to legs, back or neck or any accident result in an unconscious condition, or a severe head injury, the employee is not to be moved until medical attention has been given by authorized personnel. 4.42 Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry around machinery. It may catch on moving equipment and cause a serious injury. 4.43 Safety equipment suck as restraints, pull backs, twohand devices are designed for your protection. Be sure such equipment is adjusted for you. 4.44 Use compressed air only for the job which it is intended. Do not clean clothes with it and do not fool with it.

4.45 Keep your work area clean. 4.46 Pile materials, skids, bins, boxes, or other equipment so as not to block aisles, exits, fire fighting equipment, electric lighting or power panel, valves, etc. FIRE DOORS AND AISLES MUST BE KEPT CLEAR. 4.47 Do not block access to fire extinguishers. 4.48 Do not tamper with electric controls or switches. 4.49 Do not engage in such other practices as may be inconsistent with ordinary and reasonable common sense safety rules. 4.50 Report any UNSAFETY condition or acts to your supervisor. 4.51 HELP TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS. 4.52 Do not adjust, clean, or oil moving machinery. 4.53 Keep machine guards in their intended place. 4.54 Clean up spilled liquid, oil or grease immediately.
