There is a need to expose CBS to the different stakeholders who are - Recruiters, Parents, Students, Media, Current Students, Schools & their Faculty and alumni. 3. There should be a Formal Student Council in the college for coordinating activities of Alumni Association.

4. Alumni Database a. Come out with an advertisement in newspaper and request the database of all alumni. b. Appoint one person in college to include the changes in the Alumni Directory. c. Batch Coordinators d. Appoint City Coordinators. 5. Details to be included in Alumni Directory a. Name, Address, Company, Previous 2 Companies, Personal Email ID, Corporate Email ID, Telephone / Mobile Nos. 6. More preference should be given to extra curricular Activities of Students in Placements and in the Alumni Association. 7. There should be more presentations in schools by college students to create awareness about CBS among Senior School Students, who will be the prospective applicant students to CBS. 8. For placements, the coordinators of CDC, shall work on formalizing the process of Placements 9. Awareness should be created in Media about the placement trends at CBS. 10. Using media to project the image of CBS as a Business School. (Delhi Government recognizes CBS as a B-School - http://delhigovt.nic.in/mgt-schools.asp ) 11. Following issues need to be dealt with: a. Improvement of selection Process b. CBSites who have no other degree but from CBS are also doing well and this should be included in publicity c. CBS needs to choose recruiters - Dual Placement Process d. Students should be aware about the job profiles being offered. Actions taken on basis of last meeting: 1. Formal Students’ Council has been made, known as Alumni Students Council. 2. Batch coordinators have been appointed, for almost all batches, and one person has been appointed to make all changes in the directory. 3. Database has been collected in the specified format. 4. CDC has been working in a very formalized manner with a Dual Placement process, which has resulted in much better results in placements. Students are now aware of the job profiles offered, for most of the companies. 5. CBS Alumni have been included in the Information brochure of the college this year, as part of publicity of college. 6. There have been quite a few presentations in schools, by the college students, to increase school students’ awareness of the college. 7. Alumni interaction has been given more emphasis in various events organized in college.

The meeting on 8 April 2007 was held to discuss following issues: 1. Mobilizing more & more alumni by marketing the association (for raising monetary & non - monetary resources). 2. Achievements / Developments so far, since last meeting, w.r.t. Database, placements, etc. 3. Progression on CBS website. 4. Succession planning / concrete decisions for future course of action.

It was proposed that: 1. There should be a formal ‘media cell’ in college, in order to promote the college in formal and organized manner, with someone handling the PR work dedicatedly. 2. The association should seek help from its alumni for marketing the college, through use of their PR network, especially of those who are in PR agencies. The Media and Alumni activities should be strongly inter-related. 3. CBS alumni in various industries should be kept in contact on a continuing basis, so as to mobilize their domain expertise for betterment of CBS and the Alumni Association. 4. College should promote itself, strongly either as CBS or SSCBS, along with its logo, to remove any confusion, as part of its branding. CBS was the preferred choice of many. 5. There should be only one CBS community on Orkut, the social networking site, and it should be leveraged to its maximum, to facilitate the CBS Alumni Association, to mobilize the alumni and students. Except the one community with 1100 members, all others should be removed. 6. Mr. Naresh Priyadarshi, one of the attendee members shall take care of the website of the college, while Mr. Saurabh Wadhwa will help the students in framing the proposal for the same, to include maximum features. 7. There should be a formal Alumni Body and members who are given various responsibilities should be held accountable and they would present the reports of their performance whenever the meeting is held. 8. There should be a change in the framework of the academic studies and summer internships in the college, that is, internships should be of three months in any of the two quarters viz., October to December or January to March, besides inculcating seriousness and credibility among students while doing the live industry projects. (This is the model adopted in engineering colleges) Meanwhile in May and June, students can undertake many entrepreneurial and/or other courses of 10-15 days that will be conducted in college only, facilitating students’ industry exposure. 9. There should be formal societies and committees in the college which should be undertaking specialized functions, e.g., Finance Committee. However there should be no special concessions or testimonials given to the students members in these committees, to ensure commitment. All such committees should have regular meetings and there should be a Committee Secretary and an associated faculty for each committee. Each student should be the member of at least one committee. 10. The Alumni-Student Council (students coordinating the CBS Alumni Association) should make a list of the good practices followed at the best B-schools of India, so that these can be discussed and then implemented at CBS to streamline the process of reforms. 11. There should be started a mentor program, between/among college alumni and students. Every alumnus should be assigned 2-3 junior students, who are at the most 3 years junior to him/her, wherein the senior will provide guidance, supervision and support to the junior to streamline the latter’s career in the best possible manner. 12. There should be a quarterly newsletter sent to the alumni, about all the happenings in the college.

13. For the creation of alumni fund, college should start with the practice of asking students, especially who get placed through CDC, the college placement cell, to donate their first salary to the alumni fund. 14. College resources like Library should be available to alumni, for use. 15. CDC should make efforts to increase the number of companies coming for placement in college. The purpose is to diversify the placements, and not let the students concentrate in any one company, as part of long term development of college and Alumni Association. Also, CDC should, in harmony with Alumni Association, pitch the high profile CBS alumni, in the organizations they are inviting for recruitments (in case they are there), and leverage them to negotiate better profiles and packages for students. 16. The college should make efforts to have a residential campus as soon as possible. 17. All the college alumni should be requested to send in a list of all the Phone numbers and Email IDs they have, of their college friends, so that those people also can be sent mails regularly and be updated, and invited for meetings etc. 18. The annual alumni dinner should be held on October 2 or on first Sunday, of October, every year, whichever is arrived at majority in consensus. A fixed date shall help the Alumni Association, maximize the participation of alumni, of even those who stay outside Delhi and may be India, in the annual alumni dinner. 19. CBS selection Process should be improved, along with increase in the number of applicants, so as to refine the quality of students that enter CBS, over a period of time. 20. The next such Alumni meeting could be preferably kept on the same day as Reminiscence to maximize participation of alumni in managing the affairs of the association, say meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and party, 7 pm onwards.
