On the 17th day of May,2005, the Council of the City of Pelican Bay convenedin a meeting,the same being open to the public at the regular meeting place thereof, in the City Hall, and notice of said meeting having time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed in Article 6261-17V.S.C.S.
1. CALL TO ORDER. The meetingwas called to order at 7:00 p.m. Alderman Keller, Alderman Hunter and Alderman Sparks were present. 2. ROLL CALL. Alderman Davis and Alderman McElvea were absent. 3. OPENING PRAYER
Alderman Keller gavethe openingprayer.
At this time, Alderman Hunter submitted his letter of resignation. 4. CANVASS THE VOTES CAST IN THE 2005 GENERAL ELECTION. Alderman Keller canvassedthe votes of the 2005 GeneralElection.

THE UPDATING OF THE SUB-DIVISION

The Public Hearing was to inform our citizens about our Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances. Our Consultantsto update our existing ordinancesand this hearing was an opportunity to hear from Council and citizensregardingthis ordinance.Our old ordinanceswere written in 1996. Staterules and regulations, technology and materials have changed since then. The City has adopted the InternationalBuilding Codes; however, there is still potential for loop holes that developerscould use to bring an inferior project to the City. Our purpose is to bring our developmentand building standardsto a high quality which is what the citizensexpectand deserve. 5. UNOFFICIAL RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION. Renee McWhorter is our new Alderman Place 3, Jimmy Sparksremains as Alderman Place 4 and Ron Nightingale is our new Alderman Place 5. They will take their Oaths of Office next Tuesday after the election resultshave been certified by the Election Judge. Mayor Hawkins recognizedand thanked Regina Reed and her help, Barbara Pruitt, Renee Brooks and JamesTally for the smooth election. 7. CALL COUNCIL MEETING TO ORDER. at 7:00p.m. 8.
