Exhaust enters the top of the diesel particulate ﬁlter at upper right and exits at bottom right into the diesel exhaust ﬂuid, decomposition zone. The ﬂuid is injected into the hot exhaust and ﬂows to the selective catalytic reduction converter (at left), where nitrogen oxide is converted into nitrogen gas and water.
