Lesson Plan Template School: Kingston LA Address: King Charles Centre Teacher: Chris Cheng (Consultant for Gifted and Talented) Curriculum Area / Area of Learning: Gifted and Talented - literacy Year: Y5 The lesson objective: To model to teachers how a visualiser can be used to create big books and to share children’s work.

How the visualiser was used? This group of Y5 teachers have been working on a writing project with gifted and talented pupils. Chris showed the teachers how to use a normal printed book under the visualiser and to make it a big book visible to all the class. The teachers then took it in turns to use the visualiser to show examples of pupils written work from before they started the project and then examples of improved writing from later in the project.

The benefits of the Visualiser to teaching & learning: • Any printed book can be turned into a big book for the whole class to see the detail • Comparison of pupils writing showing improvements over time
